Case Study — Industrial & Logistics Jaguar Land Rover Soak & HVAC Facility, Coventry
Lead Cost Manager and Employer’s Agent from inception to handover on a £3m refurbishment and extension of an emissions testing facility for Jaguar Land Rover in Coventry.
The challenge
Upgrading a testing facility for JLR’s powertrain team

Jaguar Land Rover needed to adapt an existing emissions testing facility warehouse in Coventry to create new soak and HVAC test space for its powertrain division. The scheme combined refurbishment of the existing building with new build elements, creating new pits and office space.
Procured traditionally through a negotiated tender, the works were delivered within a 7-month construction programme, with careful control of cost and change at the interface between the existing building and the new construction.
Delivered by Ollie Thompson MRICS in a previous role at Mace.
