Case Study — Infrastructure Jaguar Land Rover Fen End: Infrastructure Works
Lead Cost Manager and Employer’s Agent for the site-wide infrastructure and civils works at Jaguar Land Rover’s Fen End facility in Warwickshire, part of a £65m scheme.
The challenge
Site-wide infrastructure for a major JLR facility

Alongside the new buildings, the Fen End scheme included extensive infrastructure and civils works across a site of around 60 hectares. These included site roads and parking, drainage and attenuation, utilities, a number of vehicular bridges, and Section 278 highway works to form a new junction and site access.
Infrastructure on this scale brings its own commercial challenges: earthworks and drainage on a largely flat site, works on the live public highway, utility diversions, and interfaces between civils, structures and buildings. All of this needed careful cost planning and control to protect JLR’s budget.
Delivered by Ollie Thompson MRICS in a previous role at Mace.
